Music City Kickoff from the East Side

The Music City Kickoff brings Ole Miss and Louisville to Nissan Stadium on Saturday, September 6, 2026. It’s a neutral-site season opener, which means both fan bases travel, the stadium fills, and parking becomes the kind of logistical problem you didn’t expect to solve on a Saturday morning.

Unless you’re staying on the east side. Then it’s a walk.

The east bank advantage

Nissan Stadium sits on the east bank of the Cumberland River, which means it’s on this side. From The Eighteen it’s a straight shot: roughly 0.8 miles on foot, or about a fifteen-minute walk at game-day pace. No circling for lots, no $40 parking, no post-game gridlock.

Your car stays in our on-site parking. You walk to the game, you walk home. That’s the entire strategy.

Eat before you go

Stadium concessions are stadium concessions. The east side has better options within walking distance:

  • Mas Tacos Por Favor is on McFerrin, the same street as the building. Cast-iron chicken tacos, fried avocado, and quart-size margaritas. Go early.
  • The Pharmacy Burger Parlor for scratch burgers and the tiered beer garden.
  • Butcher & Bee on Main Street for mezze-style small plates if you’re making a full afternoon of it.

Eat on the east side, walk to the stadium, save the money for better beer.

The walk home

Everyone else at that game is going to spend forty-five minutes getting out of a parking structure or waiting for a rideshare. You’re going to walk Woodland Street home, stop at Five Points Pizza if you’re still hungry, and be back at the building before the traffic clears.

The advantage isn’t just proximity — it’s that you never have to think about logistics. The game ends, you walk. The car you didn’t move is exactly where you left it.

Book early for football weekends

Home games and neutral-site matchups fill East Nashville lodging faster than anything except festival weeks. If you’re planning around the Music City Kickoff, don’t wait.
